Description
Extraordinary crucifer; makes taller cushions (5cm) of androsace-like rosettes of lance-like leaves; thlaspi type flowers of white with a hint of lilac, followed by large, inflated fruits of pale, papery green, like physaria - altogether a very odd plant. Blooms very early in April and the fragrance will fill a garden with its attractive essence. From SW Turkey, it tolerates a wide range of conditions including heat and drought. The fragrant flowers and show-stopping fruits make for a spectacular plant.
