This workshop provides the best materials and instruction to create your own alpine trough garden with tufa a truly unique opportunity.
10:30-12:00 Demonstration: Different techniques used to plant with tufa will be demonstrated, including: drilling, smearing and crevice planting. When planting your own piece you can use any of these techniques, or a combination- the design possibilities are endless.
12:00-1:00 Lunch: A simple, wholesome lunch will be provided.
1:00-3:00 Tufa and Trough Planting Open Session: Here's where we get our hands into the dirt. We'll help you plant your trough using the techniques demonstrated during the morning session. A selection of troughs (natural tufa, sandstone and hypertufa) will be available for sale (or bring your own container). Roam through the nursery and choose your planting material when all the plants are in their prime.
