Single yellow blooms are simply glorious in early spring, long before other peonies erupt. And that's not the end of the delight they bring – the red stemmed bush itself is compact and doesn't flop. Mid summer the seed pods crack open revealing glossy blue fertile seeds and brilliant red non-fertile nubbins, attractive in their own right.
